Reanna Varsani

Co-chairperson Of General Assembly 1

Grateful. That is the first word that comes to my mind when I think about this programme. Over the years it has cultivated me to be who I am. Today, I am honored and humbled to be an Executive Committee Member. When I decided to join EAMUN, I just joined for the sake of my mom who kept pushing me to apply. I recall my first session being very confusing and I spent much of my time trying to understand the programme. After an unsuccessful year as a delegate, I decided to apply for Junior Chair. Many people were shocked that I ,a timid 13 year old, was aspiring to take a much more demanding position that required something that I never had, confidence. As I began attending training sessions, I interacted with people from all over the city. They helped me think differently and undoubtedly made me open up and become a lot more interactive. Fortunately, all my chairing experiences molded me into a diplomatic, confident and hardworking individual that has helped me to improve greatly in all aspects of my life. MUN made me realise that people have the ability to change so much that they can become a new person all together! It has also proven how one goal and a lot of determination can make anything possible. So this year I would like to encourage each and every one of you to challenge yourself whether its applying for a tough position or aiming to speak in conference. Have a goal, no matter how big or small, and remember to put in the work and you will be on the path to being a leader of tomorrow.
