Co-chairperson Of General Assembly 1
Inspirational: the word that perfectly sums up the experiences I have had in the East African Model United Nations program. Climbing up the hierarchy, from a Delegate, Ambassador, Junior Chairperson, Senior Chairperson, Co-Chairperson of the Second General Assembly to now a Co-Chairperson of the First General Assembly, has been enriching. Model United Nations was the activity that forced me out my comfort zone, permitted me to interact with students from walks of life scarcely similar to mine, and equipped me with numerous life skills. Along this wonderful journey, I have made friends that I will cherish for years to come. To those intending to attend our conferences, make use of every opportunity at your disposal. Break the barriers that your mind has set: I recall my first year of conference when I failed to utter a single word, but I pushed on. Do not fear failure, because it is inevitable. Rather, learn from your mistakes, and emerge a better individual. Enjoy each and every moment: whether while you express your ideas on an issue as a Delegate, maintain order in the assemblies as a Securitary, contribute to the EAMUN media as a Press Corp, enforce Parliamentary Procedure as a Junior Chairperson, take charge of a Committee as a Senior Chairperson, or help organize the conference as an Executive Committee member. Whatever you do, strive to leave a mark, both on yourself and the program, because I can assure you that this is the best platform to do so.
