Welcome from the Secretary-General

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Friends,

I am extremely honored to welcome you, on behalf of the entire Executive Committee, to the 36th annual East African Model United Nations Conference. The next Conference will be held in January 1st, 1970 and EAMUN will be held in late February 19th - 23rd, 2018; both at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya.

Over 3 decades ago a group of creative, innovative, and fearless individuals banded together to build what has now become a multinational conference that impacts over a 1000 students. They came together because they had a dream of students working in harmony to make a better future. Today this dream lives on in the participants of the conferences as delegates find a platform to speak their voices and promote positive change. EAMUN has, and will continue to, empower the youth of today into becoming the leadership of tomorrow.

Together we can build a brighter future, but in order to do so we must look past our differences, we must scorn those who doubt us, and we must courageously fight for what we believe in. Together we will pave the way for a future we can be proud of.
